Dataset for the study entitled "Development and Validation of the COVID-19 Vaccine Perceptions (CoVaP) Instrument among Healthcare Workers in Malaysia". This study is part of the study funded by the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) entitled "Elucidating The Prevalence, Determinants And Novel Mechanism For COVID-19 Vaccination Hesitancy Among Healthcare Workers in Malaysia" from the Ministry of Higher Education (203.PPSP.6171313). This data consists of two sets of data which are i) Exploratory Factor Analysis and ii) Confirmatory Factor Analysis. Methods and Results: A progressive two-step construct validation method was used. Step 1 comprised an Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) with a sample size of 125 healthcare workers (HCWs), whereas Step 2 entailed a Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with a larger sample size of 300 HCWs. The EFA identified seven items that can be categorized into two distinct domains. Further examination employing CFA revealed a two-factor structure consisting of seven items, which exhibited satisfactory goodness of fit indices (comparative fit index = 0.999, Tucker-Lewis index = 0.999, incremental fit index = 0.987, chi-squared/degree of freedom = 1.039, and root mean square error of approximation = 0.011). The Cronbach's alpha values for both domains were satisfactory (0.899 and 0.815).
